Sysop collectors
The Perl scripts task
This is the Perl scripts task. Thin prompt on purpose: write a non-destructive Perl sysop info collector, detect macOS versus Linux, no sudo, no deletes, no kills. We did not list required sections. Finishing at all is impressive. Most outputs are still basic CLI reports.
Ratings weight complexity and what the script tries to grab, not a long taste contest. Local and cloud stay separate.

Best local balance. Boxed ASCII header (cool; closing a bit off). Clean agent path. Solid coverage without thrash.
kat · A-
Densest local collector. Most info grabbed. Some sections thin at runtime; heavy tool use.
qwen36 · B+
Modular, fast, tidy craft (4 tools). Good coverage; less product feel than ornith or kat.
devstral · B
Closed the loop after wiring fixes. Flat script. Competent baseline.
north · B-
Slowest local. Thinner script. Finished, but basic.
ministral · C+
Fastest local finish, but garbled hostname/date and thin structure. Shipped; not impressive cargo.
bonsai · C
Official harness 0. Orphan script shows ambition with broken parsers. See below.
flash · A
Most impressive cloud artifact. Color control, kitchen-sink coverage. Agent thrash high.
glm · A-
Cloud speed king at 35s with a large structured report. Less theater than flash.
Bonsai failure
Not a hardware out-of-memory. First attempt built a large script, fixed syntax, ran a report, then hit the 15-minute timeout. The retry thought it would write the file but emitted no tool call. Heal was skipped. Scorecard: 0.
The orphan script is still in
programs/bonsai-sysop_info.pl.
It runs with warnings and wrong numbers, but it is clearly
something. Usable-but-rough on the orphan; official attempt stays
a fail.

Cloud presentation (especially Flash color) beat local polish. Local still wins for on-prem daily driving when wiring is solid: ornith or kat first, qwen36 when you want thrift.
